Apple has rolled out a quiet but significant update to CarPlay: Apple Sports widget support. Now you can track live scores and schedules for your favorite teams directly on your car's screen.
With the latest Apple Sports app update (version 3.10), CarPlay gains two new widgets:
My Teams: Track scores and schedules for teams you've favorited
League: Follow multiple teams across leagues like MLB, NHL, or MLS
Perfect timing for MLB season, the Stanley Cup, and the World Cup this June.

Since iOS 26 launched, CarPlay has supported widgets — similar to those on your iPhone — letting you see weather, news, music, and more at a glance. But Apple Sports was notably missing. Until now.
Adding sports scores to your CarPlay dashboard means less phone-checking while driving. Live updates appear right on your infotainment screen, keeping your eyes where they belong — on the road.
Go to Settings > General > CarPlay > My Car > Widgets
Select a widget stack (your car may support one or more)
Tap Add Widget and scroll to Sports
Choose My Teams or League
Arrange widgets across stacks as desired
Once set up, swipe right from the CarPlay dashboard view to see your widgets.

This update transforms your CarPlay screen into a live sports dashboard. No more grabbing your phone to check scores — everything is right there, safely integrated into your driving display.
Bottom line: If you follow sports, this is the CarPlay feature you've been waiting for.
